Area of responsibility of the Rector
The Rector has the following responsibilities:
- Strategic planning (organisation and development planning) and concluding intra-university target agreements with the organisational units of the University in collaboration with the other members of the Rectorate
- Performance agreement with the Federal Minister
- External representation of the university, public relations
- Coordination of the interaction with the University Council
- Finances and budget
- Hiring of professors and personnel matters as far as professors are concerned
- Co-ordinating measures for the advancement of women
- Quality assurance
- Authorisations according to § 28 paragraph 1 of the Universities Act 2002 as far as they do not regard projects according to § 27 paragraph 2 of the Universities Act 2002
