Vice-Rector for Infrastructure

Nikolaus Hautsch serves as Vice Rector for Infrastructure as of January 1, 2023. Prior to his appointment he has been Professor for Finance and Statistics at the Department of Statistics and Operations Research at the University of Vienna. Nikolaus Hautsch studied economics at the University of Konstanz and earned his doctoral degree in econometrics in 2003. Subsequently he joined the Department of Economics of the University of Copenhagen as Assistant Professor and Associate Professor. From 2007 to 2013 he held the Chair of Econometrics at Humboldt University Berlin and served as the director of the “Berlin Doctoral Program in Economics and Management Science”. In 2013, he joined the University of Vienna, where he served as Vice-Dean (2016-2018) and Dean (2018-2020) of the Faculty of Business, Economics and Statistics. Hautsch is elected fellow of the Society for Financial Econometrics, and research fellow of the Center for Financial Studies (CFS), Frankfurt. He had visiting positions at the University of Technology, Sydney, the University of Melbourne, the National University of Singapore, the Université Catholique de Louvain, the University of Cambridge and Duke University.
